The Choir of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was created four years ago, at the request of our Pastor, Father John Connolly, to provide music for our Solemn Mass on Sunday. The Choir is charged with the task of a renewal of our Church’s Sacred Liturgical Music brought about by Pope Emeritus Benedict XIV.
Currently, our choir is made up of a diverse group of individuals, ranging in ages of 21-70, who pride themselves on providing the highest quality of Sacred Music in praise to the Lord. Sacred Heart's Choir is unique among others in the Diocese of Paterson, we strive to include Gregorian Chant and sacred polyphony at every Mass!
Our rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 P.M. from September to June. We provide sacred music for all Feast Days and Special Events throughout the year. The minimum requirement to join is the ability to carry a tune; vocal production skills and music literacy are addressed during rehearsal warm-ups. More importantly, enthusiasm for Mother Church's liturgy and sacred traditions is a must!
Please contact the Rectory if you would like to join!
